VIDEO: A day in the life of a medical student: oncology rotation!

Dear readers,

I am so excited to show you the first video of my vlogs in the hospital!
It took some time before I could finally release it since this video was recorded beginning of February.
It was shot at my oncology rotation (internal medicine).
It was actually the first vlog I ever made. I don’t know if that’s the reason why the vlog is pretty short, haha.
I noticed I started getting better at vlogging and less awkward.
Actually I felt so awkward going through the hospital talking to my phone, because when do you see a doctor like that?

However, I try to make more vlogs of my medical life like that and a little longer and more in detail for the next few months.
I hope I will get used to the awkwardness, haha.

How did I experience the department of oncology?

If I am completey honest, I am not that passionated about internal medicine (my dad won’t like to read this since he is a cardiologist and he always wanted to push me into internal medicine ;p) but of course as a medical student we have to go through all different specialities so that we can learn as much as possible!
Oncology was also quite hard because you see and treat people with cancer and a lot of times it isn’t a good news story.
It is a beautiful profession for sure but I feel like it’s not my calling.

Since I make the videos for my own university which is Dutch speaking, I make the videos while speaking my own Dutch language.
You can watch everything with English subtitles if you just turn them on!!!

Let me know what you think of the video!
