I recently got a chance to attend the biggest congress in aesthetic medicine in the world: IMCAS (International Master Course On Aging Science) as a medical doctor and guess where it took place? Paris! I’ve been obsessed with the city ever since I saw the tv show Emily in Paris and got to live that dream for a few days. Finding my way in the big city of Paris while posting on social media and wearing trendy outfits was an experience I will always remember.
(Just for your information: there will also be a nice new vlog of my solo trip to Paris which will be released soon, so keep an eye on my blog and Youtube channel…)
When I was planning my trip to Paris, I knew I needed to pay special attention to the outfits I’ll be wearing. My inspiration was of course Emily and I had so much fun recreating some of her looks and putting my own spin on it.
Since I mainly used my own wardrobe to create these outfits and bought few new items for this, I therefore searched for similar items so that you can buy a similar outfit!
Pont Alexandre III was one of spots I was pretty excited to visit. This location has frequently been seen in the TV series Emily in Paris, so of course I had to dress up and pretend I was the main character.
Outfit 1
I built my outfit around this super cute blue checkered skirt set I bought two years ago. It was super girly and was giving major Parisian vibes. The blue coat on top worked perfectly with the outfit and I decided to wear it buttoned up. Ofcourse my outfit would be incomplete without a beret. The grey over the knee boots are a wardrobe staple and they worked perfectly with this look.
Over the knee boots fit almost every look and are also very warm for the cold winter days. To finish off the look, I grabbed this beige colored bag from Valentino and was ready to head out the door!
Outfit 2
I would always see Emily sitting in a cute café enjoying her morning coffee, so I had to recreate the vibe. Like a real Parisienne, I sat down outside a local café and posed for some cute photos.
Personally, I’m a big fan of tweed, especially in a matching skirt and jacket set. You can never go wrong with tweed and it not only looks stylish but also super classy.I threw on this off-white coat since it was pretty chilly outside. I had spotted the café beforehand so strategically matched my accessories with the red tables. Of course, a beret was also a must here and it matched perfectly with my red gloves and red handbag from Valentino.
Outfit 3
While the other outfits were inspired by Emily’s style, this one was more of a recreation from one of her looks from the tv show. She wore this black and white tweed coat and a red beret, so that’s what I copied. The rest of my outfit was a bit different but I really felt like I was living my Emily in Paris dreams with this look.
Inspired by Emily in Paris…
Outfit 4
For my last outfit in the city, I wore this cute tweed mini skirt which was from my own clothing store Eubella. I used to have my own online shop a few years ago but had to shut it down due to lack of time while studying medicine. Anyways, I paired the skirt with this chic coat from Ted Baker and absolutely loved how both items looked together.
I believe this is an ideal look for an afternoon of shopping on the Champs-Elysées. 😉
One thing I learned while putting these outfits together is that over the knee boots, a chic coat, beret and gloves are basically what Emily loved to wear. If you have these things incorporated in your outfit, you will capture the Parisian aesthetic. I had so much fun in the city and I would totally recommend all the ladies to enjoy this experience at least once. Traveling on your own is such a liberating experience and it pushes you to get out of your comfort zone.
