NOTE: I USED PHOTOSHOP TO ENHANCE THE BACKGROUND AND BLUEBELLS OR I USED A GREAT ANGLE. AT ANY TIME, I STAYED ON THE TRAILS AND NEVER TOUCHED ANY BLUEBELL.

Friday morning I went to the beautiful magical forest of Hallerbos in the Southern part of Brussels.
The forest is very famous for the bluebells that give a magical look each spring!
3 years ago, I had a photoshoot with a photographer in Hallerbos on the 1st of April but there weren’t any bluebells yet which was a pity.
Last year I wanted to go again but because of Covid-19 we weren’t allowed to visit the forest.
That’s why I finally decided to visit Hallerbos this year to have a look at the beautiful bluebells!
Vrijdagochtend ben ik naar Hallerbos gegaan dat gelegen is in het zuidelijke deel van Brussel.
Het bos is erg bekend voor de blauwe boshyacinten die elke lente het Hallerbos omtoveren tot een magisch tafereel.
3 jaar geleden had ik een fotoshoot met een fotograaf in Hallerbos. Dit was op 1 april en er waren toen helaas nog geen boshyacinten.
Wat héél spijtig was want de shoot viel best wel in het water, haha.
Vorig jaar was ik dan eindelijk van plan om te gaan maar wegens Covid-19 was dit geen goed plan.
Daarom ben ik deze keer eindelijk de mooi boshyacinten gaan aanschouwen!
When I arrived in the forest, I actually had to walk quite a bit to find a great spot (and it was 3 degrees that morning, was soooo cold).
I honestly thought I would be surrounded by bluebells the moment I got there, but maybe my expectations weren’t realistic.
Of course I needed to make some pictures during this time of the year since my photoshoot was already postponed for 3 years. :p
There were a lot of other photographers of course and one photographer made a few pics while walking by apparently.
I think the results are beautiful though!
Ik heb totaal geen vergelijking met hoe Hallerbos eruit ziet als het in volle bloei staat, maar door alle reclame er omtrent dacht ik dat ik in een bos ging aankomen dat vol was van de hyacinten.
Dit was helaas niet zo, ik heb toch eventjes mogen wandelen om een mooi stuk te vinden (en het was maar 3 graden buiten, zo enorm koud!).
Natuurlijk mochten een aantal mooie fotootjes niet ontbreken aangezien de fotoshoot in het Hallerbos al 3 jaar uitgesteld was.
Er waren ook verscheidene fotografen aanwezig om de mooie boshyacinten te fotograferen, één van hen heeft stiekem een aantal foto’s gemaakt en gepost op Instagram.
Ik vind het resultaat enorm mooi!
I got up extremely early because I wanted to be in the forest around sunrise because you have the best lighting right after sunrise.
When it is a sunny day, it is harder to make good pictures because of the sharp sunlight and heavy shadows.
Next to that, being there early makes it easier to avoid too many people (it isn’t nice when you are shooting, nor is it good in these Covid times).
Normally, there is a bluebell festival every year but because of Covid-19 it is cancelled.
Ik ben heel vroeg opgestaan want ik wou rond zonsopgang in het Hallerbos zijn.
Eerst en vooral is het altijd beter om vroeg foto’s te trekken, zeker op een zonnige dag, aangezien foto’s altijd mooier uitkomen als je geen scherpe zon hebt of heel felle schaduwen.
Daarnaast is Hallerbos erg bekend voor de boshyacinten en trekt het bos jaarlijks enorm veel bezoekers waardoor het ook gewoon beter is om er vroeg te zijn zodat je grote druktes kan vermijden.
Zeker in deze tijden.
Normaal gezien wordt er ook elk jaar een hyacintenfestival georganiseerd, maar deze gaat helaas weer niet door wegens Covid-19.
I also planned to make a vlog about my photoshoots and more about the behind the scenes and perhaps how I edit my pictures afterwards.
I did try to vlog as much as possible that morning, but I am still doubting whether I will post it or not.

Ik had mij ook voorgenomen om een vlog te maken over mijn fotoshoot. Een beetje behind the scenes en eventueel hoe ik mijn foto’s erna bewerk!
Ik heb inderdaad zoveel mogelijk gevlogd die ochtend, maar ik ben nog een beetje aan het twijfelen om aan de vlog te beginnen en te posten.

Can I also ask you to not walk on the bluebells and to stay on the trails so that you don’t damage any of these beautiful flowers. If you step on them, they will never grow back!
Don’t damage property for the perfect picture, I used a bit of Photoshop. 😉
Ook wil ik jullie vragen dat, indien jullie het Hallerbos zelf nog snel willen bezoeken om de prachtige boshyacinten te aanschouwen, jullie alstublieft op de paden blijven zodat de hyacinten niet beschadigd worden.
Ik heb wat Photoshop gebruikt zodat ik ondanks op de paden te blijven toch boshyacinten rondom mij heb. 😉
