Today’s blog post is about my trip to the magnificent Nature Illuminated. A tour to the magical castle of Groot-Bijgaarden, surrounded by illuminated forests. That place took me to another realm! I went there yesterday, traipsing around nature to experience the artificial four seasons. Sounds fascinating, right?
Before I tell you more about my tour, let me give you an overview of what Nature Illuminated is about.
Nature Illuminated – A Mystical Place
Groot-Bijgaarden Castle has been standing at Dilbeek, Belgium, since the 12th century. However, the reason for its fame is the plantation of millions of daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths every year. When these flowers bloom in spring, the view spellbinds the spectators.
But a historical Castle surrounded by the blooming park is not the only thing that attracts visitors to this place. An event called Nature Illuminated is held at the castle every year. The forest surrounding the castle is technologically illuminated and offers a chance to experience all four seasons in a single day! The devices used are environmentally friendly, so it is not harmful to nature.
Over 100,000 lights are activated around the place, and the view of the lit-up castle, forest, and lake is mesmerizing. Also, as you walk along the trail, you can hear the soundscapes that enhance your experience tenfold.
If you want to give this place a go, you can visit the event any day except Monday and Tuesday. It runs from 21st January to 20th March 2022. There is no age restriction, so anyone can experience this event as the ticket starts at 11 Euros.
My Experience at Nature Illuminated
I had been planning to attend the Nature Illuminated event and finally checked that destination off my list today.
The moment I entered the place, it felt like I had stepped into another world. The trees were ready to bloom with flowers and the lights intertwined with the branches; it was a sight to behold. And a perfect place to capture some beautiful shots that make you look like a part of that environment. It makes you feel like a character from some fairytale enjoying a night around nature.
I took that chance to capture some magical moments with the beautiful background in view. You can see how the night is illuminated by all these lights, adding to the beauty of the place.
The night sky is lit up with purple, red, pink, and golden hues, especially the pink and purple shades over the lake presenting a sight that I will remember for a long time. You will love the view from the lake as much as I did.
Whether you go to this event with family and friends or with your partner, the fantastic arrangement of lights, sounds, and nature will leave you awe-struck. Moreover, the place will be a perfect location for a date night. Doesn’t it look romantic?
