Love burgundy for fall... 🍁🍂 After a busy year focusing on @doctorcontour.clinic with 100% dedication to aesthetic medicine and my work as an aesthetic doctor, I decided it was time to bring back some fashion blogging on the side as a hobby. That’s why I’ve created an ‘intermezzo blog post’ where I’m sharing 5 fall outfits I’ll wear this autumn! 👗

For those who don’t know, I’ve been fashion blogging since 2017, alongside my life as a medical student.👩‍⚕️Lately, it’s been on my mind a lot, especially as I’ve been so focused on my career as an aesthetic doctor. At first, I thought I’d stop fashion altogether because I worried people wouldn’t take me seriously as a doctor (oh, the prejudices…), but now I’ve decided to just be authentically myself—that’s what makes me happiest! 😃

Most of my patients know I’m extremely dedicated to aesthetic medicine💉 and that it’s something I’m busy with almost 24/7, but I’ve also decided it doesn’t have to be my only identity. I’ll always be the ‘aesthetic doctor and fashionista in one,’ whenever I have the time and feel inspired, of course 🙃😉

🇳🇱Ik was uitgenodigd voor de eerste editie van @thebb.event afgelopen vrijdag in Rotterdam, een bijeenkomst waar gedreven vrouwen samenkomen om elkaar te inspireren en te versterken. 💪 Het was een dag vol krachtige talks van bijzondere vrouwen die hun ervaringen en inzichten deelden. ✨

🇬🇧I was invited to the first edition of @thebb.event last Friday in Rotterdam, a gathering where driven women come together to inspire and empower each other. 💪 It was a day filled with powerful talks from remarkable women sharing their experiences and insights.✨

🇳🇱Heb je al gehoord van de term ‘collagen banking’? Collageen is het eiwit dat onze huid stevig, elastisch en jong houdt. Vanaf je midden twintiger jaren verlies je jaarlijks ongeveer 1% collageen. Dit proces versnelt tijdens de menopauze, waarbij vrouwen in de eerste vijf jaar tot wel 30% van hun collageen kunnen verliezen. Door vroeg te starten met behandelingen die de collageenproductie stimuleren, bouw je een reserve op die je huid later ondersteunt en helpt om tekenen van veroudering te vertragen. Wat te verwachten na lipfillers? 👄

Het proces na lipfillers kan best spannend zijn, vooral als het je eerste keer is. Hier is een overzicht van wat je ongeveer per dag kunt verwachten, zodat je goed voorbereid bent: 
• Dag 1-2: Je lippen zijn gezwollen, vaak groter dan het uiteindelijke resultaat.
• Dag 3-4: Blauwe plekjes en lichte bobbeltjes kunnen optreden, maar verdwijnen meestal vanzelf.
• Dag 5-7: De grootste zwelling neemt af en je lippen beginnen natuurlijker te voelen.
• Na 2 weken: Alle zwelling is verdwenen, maar omdat je gewend raakt aan je nieuwe lippen, lijkt het soms alsof de filler minder zichtbaar is – dit is niet het geval.  
Wil je uiteindelijk meer volume? Dit kan met een herinjectie na 4 weken, zodat je lippen volledig hersteld zijn en eventuele inflammatie verdwenen is.

The process after getting lip fillers can feel a bit overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time. Here’s an overview of what you can expect day by day, so you’re well-prepared: 
• Day 1-2: Your lips will be swollen, often looking larger than the final result.
• Day 3-4: Bruising and small lumps might appear but usually fade on their own.
• Day 5-7: The swelling starts to subside, and your lips begin to look more natural.
• After 2 weeks: All swelling is gone, but because you’ve gotten used to your new lips, it might feel like the filler has disappeared – this is not the case. 
Want more volume in the end? A touch-up can be done after 4 weeks, once your lips are fully healed and any inflammation has subsided.

Did you know I sometimes use ultrasound during injections at Doctor Contour? 🩺✨   🇬🇧In this video, I explain how it enhances safety, precision, and helps with complex filler treatments.
👉 Please note: Ultrasound is not used for every injection, only when necessary.
  🇳🇱Wist je dat ik bij Doctor Contour soms gebruik maak van echografie tijdens injecties? 🩺✨   4 redenen:

1. Extra veiligheid: Anatomie kan per persoon verschillen. Met de echo zie ik precies waar de bloedvaten zitten, zodat fillers veilig geïnjecteerd worden.
2. Snelle actie: In het zeldzame geval van een filler in een bloedvat, kan ik het met de echo precies lokaliseren en behandelen.
3. Effectieve correcties: Wil je je fillers laten oplossen? De echo toont exact waar de filler zit, waardoor minder sessies nodig zijn.
4. Bestaande fillers checken: Ik kan oude fillers opsporen, zelfs als ze jaren geleden gezet zijn, en zo beter bepalen wat er nog aanwezig is.  
👉 Opgelet: Het echotoestel wordt niet standaard gebruikt bij elke injectie, enkel indien dit nodig wordt geacht.
